BEAR FLATS LABRADORS
Bear Flats Labradors are CKC registered, family-raised Fox Red/Yellow Labrador Retreivers. We have moved!! We are located 15 min east of Drayton Valley, Alberta. Our name comes from the area we lived in when we first started breeding Fox Red Labs in 2012, Bear Flats. It is beautiful country overlooking the Peace River in Northern BC. We have since moved back to Alberta. We live on just over 15 acres with our, 10 dogs, chickens and our cat, Rootbeer. There are not very many dull moments around here!
Fox Red Labs??? I thought the only true colors were Chocolate, Black and Yellow!? This is very true. The color of a yellow lab's coat genetically is the inability to evenly distribute pigment. This is why we see the variation in shading, from White/Cream to the darker Fox-Red. Our dogs are registered as yellow labs, but we are very in love with their darker color! As Gunner has a medium yellow coat, we also produce some beautiful yellow pups.

Bear Flats Preach it Reverend "Rev"
Rev is our handsome Ranger/Maggie boy who is carrying on where his dad left off in fathering our future pups! He's a big, happy boy who loves everyone and is a major cuddler.
Foxtail's Take me to Church "Church"
Church comes to us from Foxtail Labradors in Fort St John, BC! (March 2021). His stocky English build will pick up where Gunner leaves off as we retire him in 2022. Church is laid back, easygoing, loves to play tug more than fetch, and we can't wait to see the pups he produces here! Look for his puppies starting fall 2022!

Dolly comes to us from our good friends at Foxtail Labs! She is pure English, all the rolls and chunk you could ever desire! :)
Dolly is a total sweetheart. We had her first litter fall of 2024 and look forward to a few more with our handsome Rev.
Bear Flats Year of Jubilee
"Jubie" is our sweet as pie Ranger/Maggie girl, full sister to Frieda and Stella! She is alllll about cuddles. :) As we restructure our program spring 2025, Jubie is looking for her forever home.

Nelli joined us August 24, 2024 from our friends at Red Labrador Retrievers in Ontario! She has some growing to do, but look for her pups spring 2026!!

Smokin' Gun "Gunner"
Gunner is our handsome original BFL stud! He comes from Creek Kennels (June 2012) in central Alberta, and we couldn't be happier with him! Gunner is an English- style lab. Affectionate, strong, atheletic, and with wonderful hunting instincts, Gunner has produced many beautiful pups. He's living his best retirement life on our property, our sweet Old Man :)

Ranger came to us from Red Labrador Retrievers in Ontario, in 2014. He produced many stunning pups and we are forever grateful to him. We said goodbye too soon.
